LYRIC STAGE COMPANY OF BOSTON
Management and Artistic Assistant
Sept 2017 - Mar 2020
As a long term assistant to both the manager and artistic director at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, I had a close-up look into the development of a theater production from the acquisition of scripts to performance, both from an artistic and logistic perspective. My responsibilities included research and development for new productions, outreach to local partners for sponsorship opportunities, and development of new strategies for company organization. I also had the opportunity to replace our patron database system from a 15-year-old software to the cloud-based platform, Salesforce.
EMERSON EMERGING MEDIA LAB
Lab Assistant
Jan 2020 - Mar 2020
Emerson's Emerging Media Lab is a space for students to work on innovative media projects including Virtual Reality, 3D Art Design, and Interactive Digital Projects. As an assistant, I fixed hardware and software issues, facilitated spaces for students to create, and developed guides on using the tools available in the lab. I also gained the opportunity to expand my research into interactive media with hands-on use of many different Virtual Reality headsets, photogrammetry hardware and software, and Maya as a tool for 3d modeling.
EMERSON INDEPENDENT VIDEO
Producer
Jan 2020 - Mar 2020
Last year I pitched to the student-run production organization, Emerson Independent Video, the first interactive narrative of its history - Film School Simulator. It would be produced for Google Cardboard, an accessible virtual reality solution, and distributed through the Apple App Store. As a producer, I organized and lead the production schedule, and assembled a team of 32 passionate creatives to write, design, and develop this VR experience. I also held bi-weekly workshops to teach students essential skills for interactive media such as game development using Unity, 3D modeling using Maya, and branching narrative writing using Twine. Sadly, due to the Covid-19 Outbreak, the project was unable to be completed but was nonetheless an efficacious learning experience.
EMERSON INDEPENDENT VIDEO
Various Leadership Roles
Sep 2019 - Dec 2019
I had the opportunity to work on two different Emerson Independent Video productions which allowed me to better understand how projects with a team of upwards of 50 students collaborate.
As a 1st Assistant Director and Stage Manager for The Story Time Show I got an intimate view of pre-production and production as the right-hand man of our creative producer. Before the shoot dates, I organized our shooting schedule and created call sheets for the cast and crew. On the days of shooting, I aided the director on keeping on schedule and making sure each department was ready for the next step. In addition, as the Stage Manager I was in charge of safety briefings before shooting, and facilitating it with the crew as they were setting up and striking.
As a technical director for Peter's Picture Palace, I controlled the switcher board during studio shoots and was the main point of communication from the director to cameramen. This experience also allowed me to edit the footage live, and include various graphics to give the director a better idea of how the final picture would look.
FULL FATHOM
Director
Jan 2019 - Apr 2019
Full Fathom is an Emerson student-run theater production organization. As a part of their theater festival, Things That Shouldn't Be Written, I had the opportunity to direct a small team of actors through a short scene, holding rehearsals and guiding them through the script to develop their own interpretation and refine their performing skill. The dozen different scenes were written, directed, and acted entirely by Emerson Students.
